The World Map is a navigable area where players can move between the levels of the main campaign of the games.
There are story hubs where players get some exposition from the Onion King and Kevin, and there are also the actual levels themselves. They are all connected by a path as each place is sequentially unlocked. All players share a vehicle to move around, which is either a van, a food truck, Kevin's helicopter or a snowmobile.
Levels are labeled and they each show the stars earned. Upon progressing to a new kitchen, it will display the number of stars required to unlock it. On the top right of the screen players can see the cumulative sum of stars acquired thus far in the savefile. If players do not meet the criteria, they will have to go back to previous levels and gain more. If they do meet them, they are then able to progress. Refer to Stars to Unlock for more details.
Additionally, updated games of Overcooked! 2 will display on the top right of the screen whether the selected Gamemode is Story Mode, Practice Mode or Survival Mode, and swap between them.
